Why analytics suits a text
Nobody needs a 20-chart dashboard to answer "did the newsletter send traffic?" or "why did leads drop on Tuesday?". Those are single numbers with a comparison, which is exactly what a text reply is. The harder part is knowing which GA4 report or Search Console filter holds the answer, and that is the part Instinct takes off you.
The other use is alerts. Organic traffic rarely collapses in one day; it slides, page by page. Asking Instinct to compare Search Console clicks week over week and text you the pages that fell most turns a slow problem into an early one.
Connect it in a minute
Connect Google Analytics (GA4) and Search Console in the MCP Ads dashboard at /manage. They share one Google sign-in with Google Ads, but each asks for its own permission, so tick both.
Create an API key under Connect MCP, then API keys, copy it (it is shown once), and text Instinct:
Connect MCP Ads for me. It is a remote MCP server: URL https://mcp-ads.com/mcp-slim, auth header Authorization: Bearer <paste your mcp_live_ key>. Keep it connected and use it for any question about my ads, analytics or SEO.
Keep that key for Instinct only, and revoke it in the dashboard whenever you like. The GA4 docs and Search Console docs explain the connections in detail.
What it can read
GA4 and Search Console answer different questions. GA4 knows what visitors did on your site; Search Console knows how Google showed your pages before anyone clicked. Good answers often need both.
| Question | Source and view |
|---|---|
| How is traffic this week? | GA4 overview: sessions, users, pageviews, engagement |
| Where did visitors come from? | GA4 channels, and source / medium / campaign |
| Which pages convert? | GA4 landing pages with sessions, engagement rate and conversions |
| Is anyone on the site now? | GA4 real-time: active users in the last 30 minutes by page and country |
| Which queries bring clicks? | Search Console top queries with clicks, impressions, CTR and position |
| Which pages lost Google traffic? | Search Console period comparison by page |
| Is this page indexed? | Search Console URL inspection |
Things to text
Name the property or site if you have several. For rankings, a week-over-week comparison is usually the most useful single question.
- "How many sessions and conversions did the site get yesterday, compared with the same day last week?"
- "Which channels drove conversions this month?"
- "Which of my pages moved up or down the most in Google this week?"
- "What queries bring clicks to /pricing, and at what average position?"
- "Is the new landing page indexed yet? Here is the URL."
- "How many people are on the site right now, and on which pages?"
- "Text me every Monday if organic clicks fell more than 15% week over week."
Reading the answers without being misled
Search Console data runs a couple of days behind, so a "this week" that ends today looks like a drop that is not there. Ask for periods that end two or three days ago. Average position is an average across every impression, so a page can show position 8 because it ranks 3rd for one query and 40th for many others; ask for the queries behind a page before worrying about its number.
In GA4, the numbers you care about are the key events you configured, often still labelled conversions in reports. Sessions and users are different counts, and self-referrals from sign-in or payment pages can steal credit from the channel that really brought someone. If a sign-in domain shows up as a top source, that is a tracking setup issue, not a real channel. The GA4 reporting guide and Search Console guide go further.
What it will not do without you
Almost everything here is reading. The Search Console tools can also submit a sitemap or remove one; ask Instinct to confirm the exact sitemap URL before either. Nothing on the GA4 side changes your property's configuration through these tools.
If the analytics answer suggests an ad change, such as moving budget from a channel that does not convert, that change goes through MCP Ads' approval and workspace controls like any other budget or status change.
The honest limits
Instinct can only report what GA4 and Search Console record. If consent settings, ad blockers or a missing tag keep visits out of GA4, the answers will undercount, and no assistant can recover data that was never collected. Search Console shows Google search only; other search engines need their own tools.
MCP Ads sees the GA4 properties and Search Console sites your Google login can reach, and you can connect them in the GA4 connection and Search Console connection. It comes with a free trial, then $49/month flat; see pricing.
