What you can do
Snapchat structures an account as organisation → ad account → campaign → ad squad → ad, and Claude can walk that hierarchy from the top. Once it knows which ad account you mean, it reports on the account as a whole or on a single campaign, creates new campaigns, and pauses or resumes existing ones.
- List organisations, ad accounts, campaigns, ad squads and ads
- Account-level performance across a whole organisation
- Campaign-level reports for spend, impressions, swipes and conversions
- Create a new campaign with its objective, dates and budget
- Pause or enable a campaign
- Cross-check Snapchat against Meta and TikTok in the same conversation
Where this saves the most time
Snapchat is usually the smallest budget in a paid social mix, which means it gets the least routine attention, and problems sit longer before anyone notices. A campaign that ended its flight, an ad squad that stopped delivering, a daily budget that was never lowered after a launch: all of them show up in a thirty-second prompt that would otherwise require opening Ads Manager and clicking through each level.
- Weekly Snapchat spend and delivery checks without a dedicated login
- Campaign status audits across an organisation with several ad accounts
- One combined paid-social summary alongside Meta and TikTok
- Spotting a campaign still active after its creative went stale
Connect the account
Snapchat Ads connects through a managed browser authorisation flow. You sign in to Snapchat with the account that is a member of the Business organisation, approve the permission screen, and MCP Ads holds the grant. No Snapchat developer app, client ID or secret is involved.
- Open Connections and pick Snapchat Ads
From the MCP Ads dashboard, choose Snapchat Ads. The browser opens Snapchat's sign-in page.
- Sign in as a member of the organisation
Snapchat grants ad account access through Business Manager membership. Use the Snapchat login that already has a role on the organisation; a personal Snapchat account with no Business role authorises cleanly and reaches no ad accounts.
- Confirm the organisations and ad accounts
The dashboard lists the organisations the login is a member of and the ad accounts inside each. If a client's ad account is missing, your login has not been added to that organisation.
- Ask for something real
Start with structure, then a report, so you know the ad account Claude found is the one you meant.

The only writes are creating a campaign and changing a campaign's status. Claude cannot delete campaigns, ad squads or ads, cannot change an ad squad's bid or budget, and cannot upload creative on Snapchat. A campaign it creates has no ad squads until you add them, so nothing can spend as a side effect of a report.
Troubleshooting
- Organisations are listed but ad accounts are empty: the login has an organisation role that does not include the ad account. Snapchat assigns ad account roles separately from organisation membership; ask the admin to add you to the specific ad account.
- The report returns zeros for a range you know had spend: Snapchat reports in the ad account's time zone and only for completed hours. A range ending today is partial, and a very recent campaign may not have stats yet.
- A status change fails on a campaign that ended: Snapchat will not re-activate a campaign whose end date has passed. Update the end date in Ads Manager first, then ask Claude to enable it.
- The authorisation page loops back without connecting: a browser extension blocking third-party cookies is the usual cause. Retry in a private window or allow cookies for snapchat.com and mcp-ads.com.
