What you can do
The read surface covers everything you would normally open the interface for. The write surface is narrower and deliberate.
- Audit account structure, wasted spend, search terms and quality signals
- Research keywords with real cost and competition data rather than estimates
- Launch Search and Performance Max campaigns, and manage ad groups and assets
- Add negative keywords individually or through shared lists
- Adjust budgets and bidding strategies, and reallocate by ROAS
- Read conversion tracking configuration and diagnose why conversions are missing
Connect the account
Google Ads uses the standard Google OAuth screen. You approve it once and can revoke it at any time from your Google account or the MCP Ads dashboard.
- Authorise Google
Approve the Google OAuth consent screen. Choose the Google identity that already has access to the ad account — picking the wrong one is the most common reason an account does not appear afterwards.
- Confirm the accounts
The dashboard lists every customer ID the connection can reach, including accounts under a manager (MCC).
- Ask for something real
A first query that exercises the connection end to end.

New campaigns are created paused by default, so a misread instruction cannot start spending. Deleting campaigns and removing budgets outright are not exposed as tools at all.
