Before you start
You need two things: an advertising account you have access to, and an AI client that supports remote MCP servers.
- Admin or standard access on at least one of Google Ads, Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads or TikTok Ads
- Billing enabled on that account if you intend to launch campaigns rather than only read data
- Claude Desktop, Claude on the web, or Claude Code
Connect your accounts
Sign up, then connect each platform from the dashboard. Every connection uses that platform's own OAuth screen, so your credentials are never typed into MCP Ads or into a chat window.
- Create your account
Sign up for free — no credit card required. The free plan includes 30 tool calls every month, which is enough to run a full audit workflow end to end.
- Authorise a platform
Pick a platform in the dashboard and approve the OAuth screen. You can revoke any connection later without affecting the others.
- Confirm what came through
The dashboard lists the specific ad accounts each connection can reach. If an account is missing, it is a permissions issue on the platform side rather than an MCP Ads one.
Add the server to your client
MCP Ads is a remote server, so there is nothing to install. You give the client a URL and approve access once in the browser.
Open Settings, then Connectors, and add a custom connector pointing at the server URL. Claude will open a browser window for the one-time authorisation.

Ask for something concrete. Vague prompts produce vague tool choices; naming the account, the metric and the period gets a useful answer on the first try.
Show me wasted spend across all my Google Ads campaigns this month.
What changed in my Meta Ads performance week over week?
Pull last week's GA4 traffic sources and summarise what moved. If Claude says it has no tools available, restart the session. Newly added MCP servers are picked up when a conversation starts, not mid-conversation.
Then what
Once a query works, the fastest way to get value is to stop writing prompts from scratch and start from a skill — a written procedure Claude follows step by step.
