Organic Publishing

Publishing to Facebook Pages, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn — the organic side, which is a separate product from ads on every platform that has both. An ads token posts to campaigns, not to a feed, so connecting Meta Ads or TikTok Ads does not cover any of this.

What each platform can do

  • Facebook Pages — publish text, link and photo posts, read reactions and comments, reply to them, read Page insights
  • Instagram — photos, reels and carousels, account and per-post stats, comment replies
  • TikTok — publish a video, or send it to the account’s drafts for the creator to finish
  • LinkedIn — publish a post to a personal profile or a company page

Every organic connection is its own connection

This catches people out constantly. Meta Ads and Facebook Pages are two separate logins with two separate permission sets, and so are TikTok Ads and TikTok posting. The split is deliberate: Meta refuses an entire login dialog if any requested permission is unapproved, so bundling publishing permissions into the ads connection would take ads down with it while publishing was in review.

Approval states worth knowing

Organic publishing needs platform approval in a way that reading ads data does not.

  • Facebook and Instagram publishing needs Meta App Review, with business verification first
  • TikTok direct posting needs the Content Posting API audit; until it passes, posts to a public account are refused whatever privacy level is asked for
  • The TikTok draft upload works regardless of audit state, and is the reliable path meanwhile

Publishing from the browser

Social Studio at /social does all of this without an AI client: pick a Page or account, write a post, publish it, and read the resulting stats. It is also the surface a platform reviewer uses, since they cannot install an MCP client.

Common questions

I connected Meta Ads. Why can I not post to my Page?

They are separate connections. The Meta Ads connection carries ads permissions only — it can list Pages an ad can run from, but it cannot publish. Connect Facebook & Instagram pages separately in the dashboard.

Why did my TikTok post end up private?

Until an app passes TikTok’s Content Posting audit, TikTok forces every post from it to a private account, whatever privacy level was requested. Use the draft upload instead: the video lands in the creator’s TikTok drafts and they publish it from the app.
