The questions that come up most often about what MCP Ads is, what it can reach, and what it will not do.
The short version
MCP Ads is a remote MCP server. You connect your ad and analytics accounts to it once through each platform's own OAuth screen, then add one URL to an AI client. From then on you describe outcomes and the client calls the tools.
The limits are deliberate, and they are the same regardless of which client you use.
It cannot delete campaigns or remove budgets outright — those are not exposed as tools
It cannot reach an account you have not explicitly authorised
It does not act on a schedule of its own; every tool call answers something you asked
It cannot surface data a platform's API does not return, however the question is phrased
Cost and access
Connecting accounts and adding the server is free. Ad spend is always billed by the platforms directly to you, because campaigns run inside your own accounts.
Note
MCP Ads never becomes the payer on your ad accounts. Whatever you spend is billed by Google, Meta, LinkedIn or TikTok as it was before.
Common questions
Do I need to be technical?
No. Connecting is an OAuth screen and adding the server is pasting a URL. Terminal-based clients need one command, and it is given verbatim on their page.
Which AI clients work?
Any client that supports remote MCP servers over HTTP — Claude Desktop, Claude on the web, and Claude Code today, with editor and CLI clients covered on their own pages.
Can it manage multiple clients or brands?
Yes, that is the common case. Connect each account and name the one you mean in the request. See Multi-Account & Agencies.
Will it spend money without asking?
New campaigns are created paused, and budget changes are write actions that happen only when you ask for them. The realistic worst case of a misunderstanding is a paused campaign you delete.
What happens if I revoke a connection?
The token is invalidated immediately and every tool for that platform stops working. Nothing else is affected, and you can reconnect later.
Is there an npm package or CLI to install?
No. MCP Ads is a remote server you point a client at. There is nothing to install and no API key to manage.
